Annual dinner

It was pleasing to see that this event, held at the Park Hotel, was better attended than last year; everyone enjoyed themselves and had a good chance to speak to a wide variety of members, partners and friends. The food quality and ambience was good, although there were some delays in service as the staff were kept on the hop. We were surprised by a flying visit and a few words from veteran SNP politician Winnie Ewing MEP, who is patron of the North of Scotland Cycling Association (NOSCA). The guest of honour was Ivor Reid who spoke about his experiences as Scottish Track Manager and as a competitive cyclist. Ivor was manager of the Commonwealth Games Track Squad in Kuala Lumpur. A photograph was taken of the club prize winners this year, and this duly appeared in the ‘Groat the following week. All in all a very successful event, and many thanks go to Ian Clark, Al Washington and the others who helped organise the event, and to all those who donated prizes for the raffle.
