Steve Fraser, a member of Caithness Cycling Club,
is taking part in the Marie Curie Cancer Care Etape Caledonia on the
10th May 2015. The Marie Curie Cancer Care Etape
Caledonia is an 81 miles sportive setting off from Pitlochry passing
along the shores of Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch, then up the steep
climb to the summit of Schiehallion. Returning to Pitlochry along
the side of the Rivers Tay and Tummel.
There will be approximately 5,000 cyclists of all
abilities taking part on closed roads, hoping to raise plenty of
sponsorship money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. The money raised by
Steve will help Marie Curie Nurses in the North and North West of
Scotland care for more terminally ill people.
He has pledged to raise at least £350 for Marie
Curie in appreciation for the care that was given to his Mother,
Kathleen Fraser, who sadly passed away at the end of September 2014
from Lung Cancer and additional complications.
