POINTS SYSTEM FOR NOSCA SPECIAL SERIES

AIMS:              1. Season-long competition for NOSCA riders to encourage Non-Standard events where there are no pressures on times and which can therefore have an extra enjoyment factor and perhaps appeal to some who may be less attracted to standard distance time trials: notice how many keen riders are attracted to MTB and Sportive events so please help to get this idea off the ground.

                        2. Include all non-standard individual events viz:

                                    Apr 29   Caithness CC, Loch Calder, 23m
                                    Jul  15   Caithness CC, Loch Calder, 11m
                                    Jul  29   Forres CC, Downhill, 6m
                                    Sep 01  Cairngorm CC, Mackie Trophy, 14m
And, if held,                  Sep 08  Black Isle GP, 40m

                        3. All categories, ie, Fastest/ Youth/ Juniors/Ladies/Vets-on-standard.

                        4. To be based on a points system. Points amassed from each event. Variation of points with placing to be such that missing an event need not prevent an overall win. Therefore, for each category, I suggest:

                                    1^st        10points
                                    2^nd        8
                                    3^rd        6
                                    4^th        4
                                    5^th        3

“1^st” means 1^st NOSCA rider etc.

 
                       5. Priority of Awards. Overall fastest takes priority, eg, if a Vet or Junior is fastest overall he/she takes that award as well as the first Vet or Junior award. (We may wish to alter this for next year but let’s see how it goes: the main need is to get the Series established). Money prizes as per the normal NOSCA one-man-one-prize system.

TROPHIES: There will be trophies or medals and also money prizes for each category at the end of the series.
